Knippers participated in the Christians in the Visual Arts (CIVA) collaborative project the Florence Portfolio which was printed by Normal Editions Workshop in the School of Art at Illinois State University in 1994.
The Florence Portfolio is a suite of 20 intaglio works printed in editions of 50 on 22” x 30” paper.
The plates for the Florence Portfolio, a collaborative project sponsored by the CIVA organization on the theme of sacrifice in the Old and New Testaments of the Bible, were created in Santa Reparata Graphic Art Centre in Florence, Italy.
The editions were printed by Normal Editions Workshop, Illinois State University, Normal, IL under the direction of Richard Finch. The handmade paper for the project was created by Meda Rives and Veda Rives, Mirror Image Press, Virden, Illinois.
The Florence Portfolio is in the collection of the Vatican Museum of Contemporary Art, Vatican City, Italy; The Grunewald Center for Graphic Arts at the Armand Hammer Museum, Los Angeles, CA; and the Cincinnati Museum of Art, Cincinnati, OH as well as several private and college collections.
