Michael Rothenstein was born on March 19, 1908 in Hampstead, London, England. He was an British artist and educator. Rothenstein passed away on July 6, 1993 in Stisted, Essex, England.

Background

Studied art at Chelsea Polytechnic and Central School of Arts and Crafts

Worked briefly with Stanley William Hayter at Atelier 17 in Paris after World War II

Elected an Associate of the Royal Academy (1977)

Normal Editions Projects

Rothenstein participated in a collaborative print project at Normal Editions Workshop during a short term residency in the School of Art at Illinois State University in 1978.
