Stewart Hitch was born in 1940 in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was an American artist who lived and worked in New York since 1968. Hitch passed away on February 3, 2002.

Hitch participated in a collaborative print project at Normal Editions Workshop which resulted in two editioned lithographs during a short term residency at the School of Art at Illinois State University in 1984.
