Carswell participated in two collaborative print projects at Normal Editions Workshop once as a faculty member in the four print portfolio CVA Suite Vol. II in 1979 and during a short term residency at the School of Art at Illinois State University in 2001. Carswell also participated in the workshop and resulting portfolio, Another Normal Conception in the summer of 1980.
