Rachel Melis

Rachel Melis is an Assistant Professor of Art at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University in Minnesota. She received her BA at Grinnell College and her MFA at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her books, prints and installations use letterpress-printed texts, carved textures, and vintage textiles to convey the processes of carrying and settling. She compares paper ephemera to natural objects and forces, such as seeds, streams, and fires that act as bearers of destruction or germination.
